The Hampshire cheese Raymond Blanc called, 'The best camembert in the world...'
Tunworth is one of the best British soft cheeses in production and has won dozens of awards to prove it, twice winning Supreme Champion at the British Cheese Awards. Its rind is bloomy and thin with a very subtle bite. The paste is dense and fatty, and oozes without running away on the board.
Tunworth has a standout aroma, instantly recognisable by its mushroomy, sometimes cabbagey smell. The cheese is best when it has a strong aroma without a hint of ammonia; it should give to the touch but not be squishy. Its flavour profile is vegetal with almost truffly notes, sometimes with a hint of roasted nuts.
